Powershot G1
Lily is a new stray we picked up, certain that someone would answer the
"Found Cat" posters and ads we placed. She's a bit of a terror to the other
cats, but she's very affectionate, and has personality traits of all of our
other cats... as if she's an amalgamation. She was being really cute, so
I snapped a bunch of photos. Digital cameras are great. These were
taken with the PowerShot G1.

This is the first set of photos taken with my new Canon PowerShot G1, which I DX'ed
my beloved and trusty CoolPix 900 for. I'm not sorry; the G1 is a well designed
performance tool. Anyway, these pics are of random and probably uninteresting
topics. The quality varies, as I'm playing with the settings. See the ImgTest gallery

some reason, at one time I thought fit to stick in one directory. Now that I've burned
the photo collection onto CD, they're staying where they are, and all I can say about
this photo collection is that it is eclectic.

We have some amazing weather in Bend. Almost every evening we are treated to
spectacular sunsets; every morning brings an inspiring sunrise. This photo set
attempts (and, of course, fails) to capture some of these events. There are also some
non-sky-related, but nature oriented, photos in here.

We get some interesting frost here in Bend. It gets really cold and misty, sometimes,
and this generates some fascinating crystals. This section shows off the macro
capabilities of the CoolPix 900.

We had our first Thanksgiving at the house in Bend (Oregon) in 1999, a tradition
which we hope to continue. The reason for this is really very simple: Mt. Bachelor
opens for the ski season Thanksgiving day.

In the summer of 1999, we attended a production of Don Giovanni in Salem (Oregon).
While I didn't take any pictures of the opera, I did take some pictures of ourselves
before we went. Monika would like me to point out that she's lost 30 pounds since
then.
